The Story
In many rural East African communities, the nearest health facility can be hours away by foot. Families often go without basic medical care, preventive screenings, and maternal health services simply because they can’t reach them.
The Riziki Foundation’s Health Care Access initiative is changing that reality. Working with local leaders and health professionals, we’ve built four community health clinics that serve over 3,200 people across three regions.
“Before the clinic, my children had to walk two hours just to see a doctor. Now they get checkups right in our village.”
Impact & Progress
Since launching in 2023, the program has provided over 12,000 medical consultations, vaccinated 800+ children, and trained 24 community health workers. Our clinics operate on a sustainable model — staffed by local professionals and supported by the community.
Each facility includes a pharmacy, maternity ward, and outpatient care area. We’re now expanding to include dental services and mental health support in Phase 2.
